ENOUGH!!! I’m not mad, I’m not cranky, I’m not even aggravated. I’ll tell you what I am; a guy with a sore neck from shaking his head side to side in utter disbelief at stories popping up this week.  This news is not hidden, it’s not some obscure conspiracy theory; it’s all right there in the open for everyone to call BULLSHIT! I may be powerless to change the path of insanity, but believe me, I know bullshit when I see and hear it, and I’m calling it what it is!  Some news services have covered it, but it doesn’t matter, because the truth is, this country is so full of ignorant people, they just don’t care. Lets review some of the fun news this week alone………

1. In Oklahoma;

“Currently, Oklahoma is recording 2-1/2 earthquakes daily of a magnitude 3 or greater, a seismicity rate 600 times greater than observed before 2008, the report by the Oklahoma Geological Survey (OGS) said. It is “very likely that the majority of the earthquakes” are triggered by wastewater injection activities tied to the oil and gas industry, the OGS said. It warned that residents should be prepared for a “significant earthquake.”  NBC News

Last year the state recorded 585 magnitude 3 or greater, up sharply from 109 in 2013. Prior to 2008, Oklahoma averaged less than two a year.

So, what should be done? Oh yea, lets “shoot the messenger.” 

“Oil tycoon Harold Hamm told a University of Oklahoma dean last year that he wanted certain scientists there dismissed who were studying links between oil and gas activity and the state’s nearly 400-fold increase in earthquakes, according to the dean’s e-mail recounting the conversation.” 

What’s the point, the earthquakes will just get blamed on Obama, and the “university” (small u), is just a front for the football team. 

2. In Wyoming;

A new laws says people can be fined, or arrested if they take pictures of any pollution on any land with the intention of turning it over to any government agency as proof of pollution, or a violation of clean air, or clean water laws. Let’s call this the “digital see no evil, hear no evil law!”

3. Hypocrisy-land , USA

GOP leaders, and presidential candidates have reaffirmed their wish for Catholic Pope Francis to “stay out of politics” this week after the Pope showed support for the Palestinians. Obviously, America’s Taliban doesn’t want anyone else cutting in on their theologian action; or kick backs from the Israeli Lobby. After all, what would happen if some world religious leader started reminding politicians that “Christians” were actually followers of Jesus Christ, who by the way just happened to be a pacifist, who helped the poor, and encouraged peace for all walks of life. “Hey Frankie……BUD OUT!” We won’t even get into Francis saying this week that “God is not some wizard with a magic wand.” Science is real???? BLASPHEMY!!

3.  Rhode Island

From several online comments in the Providence Journal this week….

A. “Bill,” (a man well-known to the online community for multiple comments, and conservative values), writing on the decline of the student population in the Warwick public school system, boldly exposes the “elephant in the room” (his quote). The reason for the numbers decline is due to the large amount of abortions women are having. Hmmmm, interesting. I asked “Bill” why so many Catholic schools have closed due to lack of enrollment, or struggle with low student numbers themselves, because WE all know, Catholic women would NEVER have abortions, or for that matter use artificial birth control…….WHOOOPS…now we have 2 more elephants in the room. Bill never replied. Elephants deserve better!

B. “Eddie” claims that “when the GOP finally retakes control of this country, were going to have a  truth and reconciliation commission.” Really Eddie? Millions of Americans have been calling for the same thing; ON DEAF EARS, for the for the last 20 years. Great idea. Lets start with the Oklahoma City Courthouse bombing, continue on with 9/11, the lack of WMD to justify a war in Iraq, and what the hell, well “were” at it, who really deflated the footballs for the New England Patriots, because millions of people seem to be far more interested in that, than any other truth and reconciliation you have!

4. Washington, DC

Two weeks ago, I rode on an Amtrak train from NYC to Providence. The Northeast Corridor Route ; which travels from Washington to Boston is the most profitable run in the Amtrak fleet. I enjoyed an efficient and comfortable ride.  Last week in Philadelphia on the same line, an Amtrak train derailed resulting in a deadly and horrific tragedy. Two days later, Congress slashed funding for Amtrak. Let’s forget for a moment, that such funding would help to continue to upgrade safety programs for the railroad line. The real B.S in this story is that for every time that Congress moans about funding the “money-loosing federal railroad,” there are 10 other times that multiple members of Congress refused to terminate the least traveled and least profitable routes that just happen to run through their districts. Apparently, loosing money for other people is socialism, loosing money for your constituents is wise and benevolent.

Well, nothing has changed for the positive since I started writing this blog, but my neck is feeling better……..
