FLOWERS IN DOWNTOWN SALT LAKE CITY A FEW WEEKS AGO
Hello Friends,
For the past many Aprils, I have been participating in the “Blogging from A-Z Challenge.” There have been so many positive aspects of this event, but as so many of you know, and I have written, it can be a massively taxing burden on my health, frame of mind, and a formidable assault on the spelling, grammar, and diction of the English language. This borderline literacy is sometimes so intense that I’ve been tempted to just explain that my “skills” were geared to the dialects and written word of some imaginary country far away where they hail me as a linguistic prophecy.
It is this exhaustion that has often made me swear off the next year’s participation, even though I love it; the blogging, not the exhaustion. This year was no different.
We can go down the list; I gave up retirement and re-entered the career world. I recently started a new job and am still in training. I have been sick for a week with a brutal cold. I have not prepared any material, or even considered joining this year’s event. I decided I wanted a break from April blogging, and if that’s not enough, there are still some “readers” out there who are still so furious from last year, for me including a video in one blog of the Glee Kids singing Amy Winehouse’s “Valerie” and not including any actual Amy videos, that they still won’t speak to me. “Hey, hey, hey………Put Down The Pitchforks!!!!”
These are plenty of reasons for me not to participate in this year’s ………….AWE,……SCREW IT!!! …….I’M IN ANYWAY!!!
Let’s get blogging, reading and writing! The Challenge starts on Monday, April 1st. I will say that this year I won’t have a theme, and as of today, I have only written the first day; Letter A, so I have no idea what I will be writing about, and as we all know, even after reading the day’s blogs, we may STILL never know what I’m writing about!
Speaking truthfully, I will say this………I am going to try my very hardest to keep all the blogs far shorter than I have written in many years. Sorry, I have said this before. “Everyone is busy, ” so I’ll try not to ramble on…….well too much. For anyone who stops after reading 3 sentences on a 1 inch phone screen, and then complains that any blog is HUGH; I will reserve my wrath for you later and as quoted in the movie “A Knights Tale; “I will eviscerate you in fiction…”
Please come along for the blogs, and the company……….
Zulu Delta

Nix the naysayers ……. The creative mind can only flourish under duress (and if your cold is as bad as the one I just got over, you are under duress)! Have fun….and I look forward to your Alphabetical Atrocities and Anecdotes!

Glad you and your “scare” quotes are back for another season, ZD… it wouldn’t be April without you. And yes, you’re right: you will never, ever be forgiven for Glee v. Amy, so watch your step… the world is watching!

Please do not stop your blogs and try to disregard any criticism or blog haters. They can move if they so choose. What about writing on stories and memories that have made you smile, laugh. Everyone loves laughter. Thanks for your time and your posts. They definitely have brought happiness to me!!JoanSent from my T-Mobile 4G LTE Device

Bravo, Dennis, for your tenacity. I let my blog go a while back, and while I do miss it, the A to Z Challenge came at what is usually my busiest time for writing. But I will look forward to yours – onward!!

We’re neighbours on the list! Not sure we’ve met before so ‘hello’. I’m going to struggle to comment on any blogger posts so will be keeping an eye on any WP posts. Looks like there’s a few of us randomers this year, I’ve just drafted A and need to find an illustration to add to it. Here’s to an unknown April. Enjoy!
